Ava

Ava remembers starting dance classes as soon as she could walk.  Due to the wise guidance of her mother, Ava first learned to pirouette from Betty Jones and Fritz Ludin of Dances we Dance.  Since then she has pursued many forms of dance including Jazz, Tap, Hula, Tahitian, West African, and East Indian; finally finding a long lasting love in the art of Bellydance.  Since the origins of the troupe in 2001, Ava has studied and performed with Kalae and the Shakti Dance Movement.  Although still fascinated many forms of dance, Ava has found no other that is able to provide the sisterhood that has come with joining Shakti.  She would like to thank her mother for introducing her to dance and her dance sisters for not letting her forget her dreams.
